Why we exist

Indonesia holds one tenth of the planet's plant life and it is slipping away.

Although it comprises just 1.3% of the Earth's surface, the Indonesian archipelago shelters between 25,000 and 30,000 plant species. Many vanish faster than they can be studied, discovered, or regenerated.

YKRI is the primary partner to Indonesia's botanical gardens mobilising resources, expertise and people to keep these living archives thriving.
